Message So I send an E-mail this morning to my closest friends-group E-mailing list, six folks I've known for over twenty years. We've been through it all together. One girl, five guys. I wrote about my new speakers I just bought for my Z, but really it was about the memories my new speakers stirred up inside me. I wrote,

"Funny how little things can trigger memories. Infinity speakers. I remember [back ih high school] sitting in [Dave's] bedroom, hooking those babies up to his new stereo, being in awe of the sound. I think we possibly could have been using some mood enhancement substances to heighten the artistic experience ;c) Whatever happened to those speakers?

The night we saw the UFO, we were sitting in Dave's grandmother's driveway, tweaking my car stereo. The fact that we simply had installed four speakers, and had managed to hook up the stock head unit to a Radio Shack equalizer "booster" put us in audiophile heaven.

What a long way sound systems have come. My stock Bose system in my serious Z is dying. I'm not trying to create a sound system that can rupture ear drums or lift the car, but I am going for high quality, clean sound with decent power."

At that point, I wrote a short paragraph about my new Infinity speakers. I threw in two photos and asked for suggestions about a what head unit and amp I should buy.

So the girl in the group writes this back:

"Sure I have suggestions for what kind of speakers to install........How about get a life!!! Seriously dude, this is getting a little out of hand, first the horn, now speakers?? It's a car, a way to get from place to place in your life, you know the thing we do everyday, people, relationships, contributions to society, granted it is nice to get there in comfort, style and/or with speed. And don't give me it's a guy thing, I have a full fledged raging hormone motorhead in my house, even he thinks you're a little too obsessed. I understand and support loving a car, caring for a car, bragging about a car. But as you do in many things in your life you are too far out there."

Ouch! That was a little personal. I felt kinda blindsided by that one. And my point was more about the memories, not the Z. I dunno, feels like she crossed a line to me, what do you guys think?

Can't wait for ECZA Saturday. Going to be HOT, as in weather :c)
